Description
The Speedway suit is where it all started and has helped us define a style of design and ingenuity unlike any of our competitors. For more than 30 years the current legends of US and European Speedway have been wearing NJK. 2000 World Champion Mark Loram, 1996 world champion and multiple time US National Champion Billy Hamill, multiple time US National Champion Chris Manchester, multiple time US National Champion Billy Janniro, and nearly every National Champion since 1991 have all worn NJK Leathers. The Speedway suit is geared toward the bullring ovals of the USA where brakeless machines are ridden by some of the most outrageous riders to be found.
This suit comes in many materials and designs… the combinations are limitless. Leather, and Kevlar are the base materials that a Speedway suit is constructed from. Complete suits can be made from these materials, as well as hybrids of two or three materials. The Leather suit offers the most abrasion protection; the Kevlar suit offers the most stretch and flexibility. The suits without leather are capable of being washed in the washing machine and air dried.
Design is virtually limitless, especially with Kevlar suits. Classic Speedway designs involve straight lines similar to that of vintage flat track. Recently our design elements have ventured into flames, barbed wire, flowing waves, lightning bolts, jagged breaking pieces, and anything else that a rider might can envision. Dye sublimation printing truly makes the design potential limitless. We can print a photo right on your racing suit if you want!
The Speedway suit can have any of the protective gear that the rider desires. Road style armor is an option, but generally soft pads are the norm. Placement of these pads can be (but is not limited to) elbows, shoulders, knees, and seat. Kill switch tab D-rings adorn the right lower sleeve… the left leg clutch grinding pads are also included.
NJK Speedway suits can consist of:
- Entire 1-piece suit constructed of leather, Kevlar, or Nylon
- Last name and riding number in two colors on back. Printed Kevlar can be infinite for design
- Any soft pads desired; i.e. knees, seat, elbow, shoulder
- Left leg clutch grinding pad
- Kevlar neck with polar fleece lining
- Built in poly/nylon lining
- Brass YKK zippers
- Kill switch D-ring on right lower sleeve
Additional options include perforated leather, hybrid construction using more than one of our material types, lettering, design, additional Kevlar and accordion stretch panels, and two-piece configurations.
