Description

These suits have been tested extensively at Willow Springs raceway’s infamous turn eight, and have come through with flying colors. We’ve seen our test pilots hit the asphalt at 160mph and get right up after sliding and tumbling for a hundred yards. Road rash free.

The construction of the road racing suit is built exclusively for this kind of stress. Level 2 CE armor in the shoulders, elbows and knees represent the big contact point protection. The hips have closed cell foam backed with a layer of leather, as well as the shins and tail bone. All areas of potential contact also are equipped with double ply leather: shoulders, elbows, knees, and seat. Back protectors can be built in also. You can supply your own, or use one of the three that we sell.

We can also build in the Alpinestars TechAir Race Airbag system for what is currently the highest end piece of safety equipment in the motorcycle world.

Stretch is crucial in a road race suit. With full armor, flexibility is very important. We use more Kevlar (Schoeller Keprotec) stretch panels than anybody in the industry. You will find large areas of Kevlar behind the knees and shins, underarms, and a large panel in the crotch. Kevlar is very elastic, breathes great, and is very abrasion resistant. We do not believe that it should touch the pavement though, and our panels are in areas that would be extremely difficult to make road contact with. Besides Kevlar for stretch, we use the industry standard “accordion” stretch panels in the lower back, above the knees, and in the shoulders. These panels offer stretch and extra protection due to the thickness of the leather within the panel.

Numerous other features are available for the road racing suit. For the warmer climates, we can perforate any section of the suit for ventilation, and other vent systems are also available. Kangaroo has become increasingly popular over the last few years also. All suits include an aero hump, and can make it an integral design feature in you custom suit. Design and lettering are available in an infinite number of combinations. We pride ourselves on doing creative, original designs, utilizing the newest materials on the market. If you can imagine it, we can probably build it. All suits are available in one piece or two, with a number of different belt systems.
