Description
The Land Speed suit is relatively new creation. Recently, many of the sanctioning bodies have made an effort to standardize the suits to conform to some specific theories. The Land Speed suit is rare in motorcycle racing in that they are not permitted perforated panels and textile stretch panels. This makes for a solid leather suit. It might be the most sturdy suit structurally. It certainly has fewer potential spots for failure than any other suit in the motorcycle range. This is probably a good thing when there is the potential to come off at over 200mph. Ask Jason McVicar who crashed an NJK Land Speed suit at 245mph at Bonneville and walked away…
The Land Speed Suit can include the following:
- Entire one or two piece suit constructed of leather
- Inside the boot or outside the boot configuration
- Soft pads or two ply leather anywhere desired
- Last name and racing number in two colors on back
- Kevlar neck with polar fleece lining
- Built in poly/nylon lining
- Brass YKK zippers Elastic waist belt in pants
Additional options include zipper venting, aerodynamic hump, road racing style hard armor, accordion stretch panel, lettering, design. This suit requires a bit more consultation. Since Land Speed racers tend to have a pretty individualized opinion on what they want from their suit, we highly recommend speaking with us at length before diving into this project.
