Skateboarding | Luge

The gravity oriented sports have exploded once again. In years past, it was the X-Games, Gravity Games and Red Bull Big Air challenges. Now, it’s the Attack of Danger Bay, Maryhill Festival of Speed, and Newtons Playground. These events are drawing ultra talented riders from around the world and the level of skill and competition is higher than it has ever been.
The Freeriding around the world is what is creating these incredible skills and there are tons of riders who are pushing the limits every day with no aspirations to compete. Riders are going faster and discovering more technical roads in every corner of the globe.
NJK has been involved in stand up downhill skateboarding and street luge since 1995. We have a seen a mountain of progression in way people attack hills and have tried our best to keep up with our riding safety gear. We have been very fortunate to work with most of the best riders from every generation of Downhill. The research and development that we have done with these riders has helped us create what we believe to be the most progressive and only true Downhill suit in the world. Other manufacturers have altered their motorcycle patterns to be used in Downhill, but we have started from scratch and evolved to the top of pinnacle of Skateboarding safety apparel. When we have success with a rider’s idea, we share it with every other rider. If it works for someone, we will share it with you.
Some of the great riders we have worked with include: Kevin Reimer, Mischo Erban, Scoot Smith, Brianne Davies, Katie Nielson, Patrick Switzer, James Kelly, Luis Pilloni, Erik Lundberg, Fredrik Lindstrom, Jackson Shapiera, Zak Maytum, Dubes, Christoph Batt, Chris Chaput, Mark Golter, John and David Rogers, Jimmy Flindt, Daryl Freeman, Biker Sherlock, Dane van Bommel, and John Dread.
Design wise, the downhill suit is also conducive to intricate and progressive design. With the body positions used in the riding, it gives us a great challenge in displaying different graphic concepts. Logo placements on these suits can be different from the placement on most other suits because of the body positions.
Downhill and Street luge suits start at $750 and include the following:
Additional options include perforated leather, extensive Kevlar stretch paneling, accordion stretch panels, lettering, design, Velcro knees for knee sliders.
